A trust game for kids that makes estate planning simple
Trust Builder is a trust game for kids and teens. Players help a pretend family plan ahead. They learn who the grantor, trustee and beneficiary are, how a revocable trust differs from an irrevocable one, and why a trust only works when property is moved into it.

What players learn
- The grantor creates the trust, the trustee manages it and the beneficiary benefits
- A revocable trust can usually be changed; an irrevocable trust generally cannot
- An unfunded trust does very little — property must be retitled into it
- Property outside a trust may go through probate
- Trustees have a fiduciary duty to put the beneficiary first
- Offers to “avoid all taxes” with a special trust are a red flag
Education, not legal advice
Trust law varies by state, and real trusts are written with a licensed estate-planning attorney. Learn more in What Is a Trust?.
