Goldie had a shiny ball. Goldie wanted a snack. Pip had a snack, but Pip did not want a ball. Oh no!

So people made money. Money is something everyone agrees to take. Now Goldie can pay for the snack with money. Then Pip can use that money to buy what Pip wants.

Money can be coins. Money can be paper bills. Grown-ups also pay with cards and phones. That money is kept safe in a bank.
